Starcraft 2 - It's About Time

Yes Folks, for those of you that may not have heard yet, it has been announced that Starcraft 2 is now in development.

Myself, I am insanely excited about this. This announcement has very much made my day. I cannot wait to see what the Storyline holds and what new units there are. There's already some previews of a few new Protoss units.

So all you Stracraft fans, start chattin' up up. I'm sure before long, we will have Starcraft 2. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that SC2 will either release next year, or the year after. However, knowing Blizzard and their quality for RST's, I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't released till 2010.

well i heard that they have been developing this since 03.....i think we will hear more come E3

WHAT?! Since 03? If that's the case, then shit, they really kept their mouth's shut. 4 years of developing plus? To be better than the original, I guess they would have to spend a good amount of time.

the things is...how can you out do starcraft?
starcraft is timeless...its been years sinces it came out and its still one of the best RTS game out there

That's what makes me skeptical. I'm gonna save my final verdict for when I actually see the game in action. It could be a Matrix incident, the first one kicked all kinds of ass, and it's sequels didn't live up to the original. But time will tell. Still it's nice to know it's actually in the works.

Blizzard knows that they have expectations to fulfill. They know that they are up to the challenge. They are gladly taking this challenge. They have professional game players testing out the balance. It's in pre-alpha right now. Beta might be at the end of the year. Blizzard will work hard to make sure that it surpasses the first.
