On GOW II, the first level, inside the colossus.. I need help. I got all the way to the top (where the Gorgon eye is), absorbed the colossuses powers and saw the rope. I climb the rope and it leads all the way up to a thing floating in the middle of the air. Yeah, the top of it's just floating. So, I go onto gamefaqs.com and look at a walkthrough. Nothing. It says "jump off onto the ledge" WHAT LEDGE?
I need some help.

Ok, when you get to the top of the Collosus (you should be inside of his head, with the eyes visable), you jump off onto a ledge. The ledge should have a swinging thing on it, which you have to hit to get moving. Near by there should be a ladder, which you must climb. Atop the platform is a switc which will make the pendellum you hit below rise. When it does, follow it across the rope, moving when it blocks the beams coming from the eyes. Once you're past that, you go around, drain the last bit of power from the collosus and defeat it...
Thus starting off the biggest screw job in the history of gaming. What happens next is screw up, even for Kratos...lmao

I think my game's screwed. I climb the rope and I see the world around me. He doesn't have a head?

You must have missed one. Start from your last checkpoint, and do it over. If you miss one of the drain points, it wont complete the level.
