He had finally arrived in New York City, it was early in the morning when he did. And the first bit of business he needed to get out of the way was to meet with what was going to be his new boss and sign the contract. He stood out like a sore thumb in the streets of New York. Plaid undershirt, overalls, old and rugged boots, and of course, to top it all off, a cowboy hat rests atop his head. Also still having his duffle bag and suitcase. He had tried to ask a few people for directions to the building, but no one even gave him the time of day.
After about two hours of searching, he went into a small convenience store wedged between two large buildings, typically in this city, it was run by an Arab. Billy had no mind in shopping, he just approached the counter, asked where in the world that building was, the man told him, but it took some repeating for Billy to understand him fully. He tipped his hat to the man and left the store, but not before buying a bag of beef jerky. Five dollars plus tax for a bag of it. Sheesh, that was outrageous, but he wanted it, and he payed for it.
He didn't have much money left on him, so, a taxi was out of the question. He walked to the building, barely nibbling at the food he had purchased. He arrived at the building around 4:30 PM. He was allowed into the building, and even up to where Ms. Blackheart's office was. Maybe these people knew who he was, or maybe they just assumed he had a meeting with her. He stopped infront of the door, read the name on it, tucked the bag of jerky in the large pocket on his overalls, and then knocked three hard times on the door.

It might have only been morning still, but it didin't stop the staff of the XWA from working hard at making sure things would go to a rolling start once all the minor details were taken care of.
We're close...really close. I'm feeling good about this.
Suddenly she hears three hard knocks on her door. Her head rises from the computer and she takes off her glasses (yep, glasses).
Come on in!

He opened the door to her office, entered, and shut the door behind him. And boy what a nice office it was, his eyes widened slightly as he looks around the place, mouthing something about the place. He wasn't used to real fancy looking places, his duffle bag went to slip off his shoulders, but he hoisted it back up as he made his way further into the office, snapping out of his daze of the amazing place, he turned his attention to the woman behind the desk. From his experience in the working field, his bosses have always been men, so, that's what he was expecting. Another mistake by him.
"Purdy darn nice place, you got here, ma'am."

"My apologies, I reckon I should have stated who I was from the start. Billy. Billy Ray Hutto's the name. And I'm reckonin' you're going to be my boss, that is if'n you sign me on to your company."
He tipped his hat to her, he would have removed it, but he hadn't exactly fixed his hair up, and it would be an utter mess, he'd at least spare her from seeing that.

Hmm...let's see. Hutto...Hutto...there we are!
She types his name in her computer and the database bring up his application.
All the way from Moss Point, Mississippi...hmm? So how's the "big city" been treating you?

He took a seat, setting his suitcase on the desk, at least it was in good condition, unlike his clothing. He placed the duffle bag on the floor next to him and pulled the bag of jerky from his pocket.
"Well, I'll be completely honest with you. Its been none too kind yet. Only feller that helped me find this here building was a foreign feller. But, I reckon the city is nicer than what I've seen so far."
He paused for a moment and then held the bag out to her.
"Would you like some? Would be rude for me not to offer a lady something."

I'm fine, thank you...
She does bat a smile towards him though, gotta love that southern hospitality.
Cities are overrated anyway. I wouldn't let it get you down too much. I suppose that where you're from, people are very friendly. It puts you ahead of the curve in my opinion.
We're going to see the world in XWA, Mr. Hutto. You're going to see more than you ever imagined, and of course bust a few heads in the process. Nothing wrong with a good "scrap" now and then right?

He brought the bag back to him, taking a single piece out, he held it for a moment, listening to her talk, nodding his head all the while. He then took a bite out of it. At least it was tough, that's what he always liked about jerky, the toughness of it, he chewed it up and swallowed the piece down.
"Haha. That's true, ma'am. And I'm sure it'll be better'n any bar fight could ever hope to have."
All around the world, huh? Not just city based like some are...
"So, it won't just be in this city then? But all over the place. That's goin' to cost a lot of money, ain't it?"

You're right...it is. But I've got a pretty big checkbook. Sports Entertainment isn't the only venture I've had my hands in over the past few years, and becuase of it, XWA will benefit. I leave it to the men and women who step into the ring though to help turn in the profits...and trust me, you'll be handsomely rewarded for your efforts.
Speaking of which, one moment...
She turns to her computer and types a few keys.
It's funny how technology is so important in daily life now isn't it? One moment, you're a guy coming from Moss Point, and the next...
*Hits Enter.
You're a guy coming from Moss Point who has a $40,000 Cash Advance. It's the standard starting pay for everyone who signs on to the XWA. You're card...
Carmella hands Billy Ray a blue card from across the table.
You now have a Swiss Bank account that all of your funds will be transferred to. The PIN code is ______. All I have to do now is set your application to APPROVED, and that will be that. No contracts to sign or anything.

He didn't quite understand what all she was saying, but he nodded his head. He accepted the card with a polite nod and stuck it into his pocket, he'd place it in his snakeskin wallet later.
"$40,000 just for signing on?! Well, hot dog, I don't think I'm gonna be needin' to worry about fares at all, now do I? So... I'm already a registered combatant? No need to sign a piece of paper or anything? That electronic box their done did all the work for ya'?"

Yeah..ain't it cool?
She pats the computer monitor.
Everything I need is all here, and of course my laptop as well for when do hit the road, but the first XWA show will be right across the way at the "Mecca Of Wrestling", Madison Square Garden. It'll give you more time to get acquainted with the city...
The look on his face brings a smile to hers, a cute little "oh no" look.

"Well, I'll be... Well, now that I'm workin' under you, I reckon I'll head on on out of here and get to training before the first show. It was a pleasure meeting you, ma'am. Maybe we'll be able to talk again, under normal terms."
With that, he stood up, gripping his suit case and grabbing his duffle bag, tossing it over his shoulder once again, tipped his hat to her and took his leave of the office, he didn't want to keep her too long, she had to be a very busy lady after all.

That will be a safe bet to make, Mr. Hutto. Until then...good luck!
She waves goodbye to him as he leaves her office and returns to her work.
I think he's gonna do pretty well here...
