Miami, Florida- American Airlines Arena

Jon had come into the XWA for one thing, to establish dominance on new battlefield. The faces were new, the only recognizable ones were those whom he brought along with him, the woman in charge and one or two who were also in the other promotion. The one thing he hadn't intended on was making new friends. A man in his position, a man with his reputuation would surely make more enemies than not...especially with the plethora of fresh new talent in this place looking to make a name for themselves. Jimmy Ames was probably as high as a kite knowing he pinned Jon Payne for the Pure Championship a week ago, but as could be seen in that match, it wasn't all Ames' doing. Rock Carmichael crossed a very thin line that night night and Payne was poised to make him pay for it here.
He sat in his lockeroom strapping up his Skull-Greave boots, his entrance jacket, gloves and pads sitting to the side. Suddenly he heard a knock on his door as someone was making their way in...

the door opened a crack and a hand waved from outside
its kim..you decent?
the she asked from outside the door, she was the hype of person to make afew friends but just people you would go out for a drink, or a bite to eat..but she liked hanging out jon wither it be talking him helping her train abit harder, she enjoyed his company
ready or not here i come...caught ya...
the door opened, kim smiled walking in and sitting down next to him as he gets ready, she was already in her gear and very hyped up for her debut
you ready to kick some rocky horror picture show butt?

Absolutely. I just wish that they'd have scheduled the match sooner, I'd no problem opening the PPV if it meant I got my hands on him sooner.
You could see in his eyes that Jon was none too pleased of the events of last week's TakeDown show. He still had a bandage on his forehead where Rock busted him open with a big boot.
You know, I try to keep things on a professional level, but tonight I'm gonna teach that big galoot a lesson in sportsmanship. He might be one of those tough guy types, but nothing I can't handle.
You got yourself a pretty big match tonight too. Nervous about the debut?

yeah...kinda the closer we get to show time..the more my heart thumps ..but i cant wait to get out in front of those people...lets hope we both leave tonight winners
she smiled fixing her headband...
so any plans after the show? i was thinking of heading into town and having some fun...wanna come..if you dont have plans?
she poked him playfully in the shoulder

Jon can't help but crack a smile at her. She was a shining example of what this XWA was all about, a new beginning for everyone who stepped through the door. He gives her playful little shove on the shoulder in return.
Sounds good to me, Kim. We're gonna have some free after the PPV I hear, should be plenty of time to check the city out. I haven't even really had enough time to check Miami out, been a while since I've been down here.
As he looked over to Kimberly, he could see the excitement welling up in her. She was so eager to get out there and do her thing it was coming out of her pores almost. He nods over to the rest of his gear...
Hey, pass me my gloves over there will you?

well this is my first time down here...and i cant wait to see the town..i just wish the flight wasn't so late...
she sighed trailing her fingers along her jeans
i have a feeling that its gonna be a good night...lets hope my feeling is right and we walk out of the arena happy...and fly out of miami tomarrow happy to

Jon starts to slide on his gloves.
Even if things don't go your way, it's no reason to be down on yourself afterwards, Kim. There's a lot more to this than winning and losing. Me...as long I know I put 110% out there, it doesn't matter whether I come out on top or not. That's what separates the good wrestlers from the great wrestlers. Every handles winning the same, it's how you handling losing sometimes that defines who you are.
You got it altogether though, Kim. You're gonna do great. Lovin' the headband by the way. Does it mean anything to you?

the smile faded from her face for a moment as he spoke about her headband, she reached back taking it off and looking at it in her hand
thanks..glad it looks good..but it was my great grandfathers...passed to my grandmother then to my dad then to me...i only wished i didnt have it...
she closed her eyes and breathed heavy before placing it back on her head
you see it...its a tradition in my family to pass it down...when you die..and i was young when i got this..so..placing two and two together..you see why i wish i did not have it

It was an interesting tradition if not a pretty grim one to have. Still, Jon did his best to perk her back up...
Don't let it get you down, Kim. It's unique, just like you are. That's the first thing I thought when you stepped into the door with it on.
Don't let it define who you are.

9 o'clock start time, at least that's what I heard.
He looks over to a clock on the wall. That meant it was going to be at least another 10 minutes now. Suddenly there was a knock on the door.
"Ms. Angelos? Are you in here?"
Yeah...
"Oh...didn't know you were in there too, Payne. Well...you're match is going to be the first up Kimberly. Ten minutes?"
You cou could see the excitement build even more now. There was a sparkle in her eyes as she rose from her seat. Jon walked over to her and held by the shoulders...he could almost feel her heart beating.
OK Kimberly...remember what I told you. I need you to focus. You're gonna go out there and it's gonna be crazy. The fans, the lights, the cameras. Whatever happens just makes sure that you give it your all. 110% got it? No matter what the outcome, leave it all in the ring and give them everything you've got. I'll be watching from the monitor over there...
