-Wanting to keep her past secret, as well as being sure Justice wouldn't have seen her time as a porn star, Manami thinks and replies after a second.-
" Well I wrestled at home in Japan for a couple of years before coming to America. "

You're both from Japan? If we ever go there, could one of you show me around? I'd love to know about my own culture.
Kenji didn't remember any of that stuff his mom taught him. His dad "programmed" it out of him. He REALLY wanted to be Black as well as Japanese, but didn't know how to be Japanese.

Justice studies Manami's face for a second or two before finally shrugging and giving up She dug back into a small cup of soba noodles she had isolated from the rest of the meal. They never stood a chance.
"Hmm, maybe that's it."
She wasn't really convinced, but for the life of her she just couldn't put the face to 99% forgotten memory. Either way she was happy to have Manami's company at dinner. She looked over to Katana.
"You should definitely go find your roots, Katana~san."
Justice nodded between mouthfuls. She didn't have the heart to tell him that he would be a complete and social outcast in Japan. His tattoos would mark him as Yakuza, and they were lower than cockroaches to every day people. But cockroaches do love other cockroaches, so they continued on... underground.
"Maybe you would find what you're looking for."

Yea. I just want to be Japanese again. Another thing I hate about my childhood,
He points to his tattoo.
This. I don't want it anymore. I would get it removed but that would probably do more harm to my face then good. The last time my mom saw me, she looked at me & asked me about the tattoo, and ten said I should never go to Japan because of it. What's wrong with my tattoo?

-Downing one of her Sake shots, Manami tries to think of a a way to break the news easily.-
" That tattoo would mark you as a Yakuza, and you see how I reacted to you? You would get that treatment Everywhere at home. Yakuza are generally looked down upon in polite society at home, and much like the American Mafia the Yakuza are very...hostile to outsiders who try to claim membership. "

Sigh. Although, they would be partly right. AD was kind of like the Yakuza, as most of it's members were Asian. But the ways they killed people was horrible. Dismemberment, Torture etc. He had personally seen one of his members dismember someone by tying their limbs to 5 separate horses and whipping them, sending the horses flying in all directions, ripping his legs and arms and head off. He wasn't particularly proud of his past, but he now knows the one thing he wants the most, probably wont happen. He can never be a normal Japanese person now. He can never forget his past now. If they went to Japan, he probably wouldn't go outside. He had to make a mental note to punch Tato when he got back to his apartment.
There was a look of extreme sadness and despair on his face. When his Ramen came, he pushed it away and slouched back in his chair, pissed to the point where he didn't even want to eat, even though he was hungry as a horse.

Justice continued eating, not because she was insensitive but because she still very hungry. She plopped a stewed egg into her mouth and chewed while nodding in agreement with Manami.
"She is right, Katana~san. Tattoos of any kind are looked down on. Most XWA wrestlers would be looked down on. It is old fashioned. But Japan is really old."
Justice poured herself a small glass of sake and downed it in one gesture. It wasn't the greatest she had ever tasted, but tonight it was really good.
"But you can still go, Katana~san. People will just ignore you. That can be a good thing too. You don't have to follow all the customs and rules that Manami and I do. You might have a good time."
She tried to find some positive in it all, while gesturing to the server for more cabbage.

Possibly. Well, I guess we'll see once we get there.
He felt kinda better now. He honestly felt he was overreacting, but he felt good enough to eat now. He thought about how his mom used to teach him how to speak Japanese and the Japanese Culture. He knew Japanese and Korean, and was taught things from both cultures. Sigh, he missed those days. Before his father came back into the picture.
Another heavy sigh. He started eating his ramen, before stopping to talk again.
So Justice, where in Japan are you from?

"I'm from Atami. It's a resort town. Too many people visit but not many people live there."
It was a nice town, but it was kind of like living in Disneyland. Everyone that visited was in a dream world of hot springs and luxury hotels, while you boiled potatoes and watched the evening news. The boys were all drunk and looking for a holiday flings. The girls were pretty much the same. Justice took part-time jobs at restaurants and hotels, when they weren't wrestling in front of tourists at night.
"I miss it."
That was true. While she was determined to make something of herself in New York. It would never be home. She would never be a New Yorker.
"Manami? Where did you live before you came here?"
She looked like an Osaka girl. They were tough in the face, body and language. But Manami had been in America soo long that her accent was difficult to place.

-Leaning back in her chair, Manami smiles and replies to Justice.-
" I'm originally from Kagoshima. My father was a dock worker, and my mom worked in a small doctor's practice as a nurse. "

"A dock worker and a nurse?"
Justice tried not to sound too surprised. But she failed miserably. She couldn't imagine how a nurse and a dock worker could meet and fall in love.
"I'm sorry, that was rude of me."
Justice should be the last person talking about anyone's parents or family situations. Her father never talked about her mother. It was almost like she had been erased from their history. The only reminder was Justice herself. She had often felt bad for her father having to look at her everyday and being reminded of his ex-wife. The other reminder of Justice's mother was Justice's anger towards her. Those were the things that kept her alive. They were enough.
"I thought you were from Osaka. Your accent is very strong and physical, isn't it?"

Y'know, he could've gotten injured on the docks & she was his nurse, and they fell in love.
He mumbles between eating ramen. Meh, it could've happened. If it did, that's fate right there.
