If you haven't heard, Fedor lost to Werdum via triangle choke last night. So the Legend is 35 - 2 with only one legitimate loss. Congrats Fabricio Werdum on being the only man to beat the unstoppable Russian android .

Fedor's not unstoppable. How many guys did he fight that where legitimate fighters in their prime? Minataro and Cro Cop, that's it. When you take a look at his previous 5 fights, they were all against guys who where either slumping or on the downturn of their careers. Sylvia and Arlovski suck balls now, Brett Rogers has never been able to crack into the "elite" category of heavyweights, Matt Lindland...though he's 22-7 in his career, is still relatively unknown and Hong Man Choi's biggest moment in MMA was beating Jose Canseco of all people.
Word around the horn is that Fedor will retire now, but if he does, while he will go down as one of the most legendary heavyweights in MMA history, he will not...nor is he in anyway...be consider the greatest heavyweight ever. In order for that to happen, he'd have had to have beaten the best heavyweights in the world. And they all fight for UFC. Frank Mir, Cain Valasquez, JDS, hell...even Shane Carwin and Brock Lesnar. To be considered the best in the world, you need to compete in the best organization in the world. Fedor never did, so there's no way anyone (Not saying that you have, Vault) can call him the best heavyweight ever. That would be like saying Jordan was the greatest basketball player ever if he'd have played in the CBA and not the NBA. His accolades would be impressive, yes. But he'd have done it all in the "B-Leauge". And no disrepect to Pride, Affliction or Strikeforce, but compared to the UFC, they're the B-League of MMA compared to UFC. Hell, Fedor never even bothered stepping up to the challenge of Alistair Overeem, who's the Strikeforce Heavyweight champion and actually called Fedor out after his last fight.
But enough of my Fedor rant. Werdum was clearly the best possible guy aside from Overeem to beat Fedor. He might have had minimal success in UFC, but the dude is rapidly evolving into a complete fighter and not just a BBJ fighter, though it was his jujitsu that won him the fight.

Even though Fedor was one of my inspirations to get into MMA myself, I have to agree with what O'Dell said. He pretty much summed it up.

I know Fedor's not unstoppable that's why the is there lol. Even the best lose. No one doubts Randy Couture is a legend with his 18 - 10 record. No one doubts Anderson Silva's 26 -4 record either. Sure Fedor had some throw away fights but still going an entire decade without someone stepping up and beating him is amazing.
