I remember this was done lasy tear, so let's start up a new one. What are the abilities you want for your CAWS? Here's the list again:
1) Dirty Pin (Feet are now on the top rope) 2) Evasive Dodge 3) Lock Pick 4) Ref Sheild 5) Move Theft 6) Taunt Theft 7) Hammer Throw 8) Object Specialist 9) Resiliency (Applies now for submissions as well) 10) Durability 11) Hardcore Ressurection 12) Kip-Up 13) Fan Favorite 14) Outside Dives 15) Springboard Dives 16) Possum Pin New Abilities 17) Fired Up (3 Finishers in a row) 18) Ring Escape (Able to leave the ring while knocked down) 19) Exploder TB Attack (Able to jump on opponent whose on the TB and do a grapple move) 20) Pull Back Attacks (Use irish whip to pull your opponent into a strike or grapple) 21) Strong Strike (A powerful strike)
Just pick which ones you think are going to give you the edge. Here's mine:
XXL Hammer Throw Lock Pick Strong Strike Kip Up Pull Back Attacks Toss Up between Durability and Fan Favorite if it's useful this year
Marisol Springboard Outside Dives Kip Up Strong Strike Lock Pick Pull Back Attacks

I suppose since this is a 3X made CAW he's already got it planned out, but I assume JPIII's abilities will be the same as they are now or similar. If it were me though:
Hammer Throw Lock Pick Kip Up Ring Escape (would be a nice little heel tactic) Pull Back Attacks Dirty Pin OR Ref Shield OR Strong Strike

I'm in the same boat. Mat is responsible for making the Helena caw, so these would be the abilities I'd request for her:
Object Specialist (Here's hoping we get more Diamonds willing to trade chair shots) Lock Pick Hammer Throw Ring Escape Pull Back Attack Ref Shield

!!!JONNY PUNCH!!! Object Specialist (Duh) Hardcore Resurrection (Double duh) Kip-Up Pull Back Attacks Strong Strike (FALCOON PAAAAAAAAAAWNCH!!!!!!!!) Ring Escape
Dan Ripley Springboard Lock Pick Hammer Throw Pull Back Attack Move Theft Kip Up
Ina Morifuji Springboard Outside Dives (Here's hoping the AI actually uses it this year) Lock Pick Ref Shield Move Theft Kip Up
Bull Nagano Hammer Throw Strong Strike Lock Pick Pull Back Attacks Kip Up I doubt she'll need 5 abilities, but if were going to choose a 5th, it'd be Durability, and that's dependent on how much the AI actually uses it.

Me personally, aside from the few caws I make for other people like Helena, I'm going with uniform abilities for most of my guys. I don't see a point playing through whatever mode would be needed to attain abilities (If they're not initially selectable) for multiple caws, when most of mines generally use the same abilities anyway. So I'll just build one caw with the abilities that fit the style I like my caws to have, and just copy him to make the others. Those abilities are Lock Pick, Object Specialist, Hammer Throw, Pull Back Attacks, Kip Up and Durability. I might mix it up for my non-XWA creations, but as far as XWA goes, that set up offers the most versatility across a number of match types.

Well Im still learning when it comes to moveset creation (!) but from the looks of it,
Exploder TB Attack, Springboard, Lock Pick, Kip Up, Bloodshed, RIng Escape or Ref Shield or Move Theft (depending on what's most useful)

That's actually the same approach I plan on taking, just in a bit more detail. I plan on creating templates. They go as followed:
High Flyer type Springboard Outside Dives Kip up Move Theft Expolder TB Attack Lock Pick
Power Type Hammer Throw Lock Pick Pull Back Attack Strong Strike Kip Up Durability (Basically the same set up as Bull, because it's the perfect ability set up for Super heavyweights/Amazons)
Athlete/Showman Type Hammer Throw Lock Pick Pull Back Attack Springboard Kip Up Move Theft
Hardcore Type Object Specialist Hardcore Resurrection Springboard Kip Up Durability ? ? ?
Generally, there's 8 caws I'll work on, 4 males, 4 females. Once they have the abilities and stats to about 75 in all categories, I'll copy them and then make the rest of my roster. So all caws I'm converting from PS2 to PS3 will have one of the 4 templates above depending on their character type. Should only take me a month of hardcore game time to build 8 caws to the required levels.

Dude...
THAT'S FUCKING BRILLIANT!!!
Any chance you might be nice and upload these templates for us PS3 users to get our hands on and create our rosters from? If so, I might just work on Ina and Punch only since they have specialized ability needs, and make everyone else using your templates.

Of course I'd upload them. I personally agree with Mat that uniform abilities make for more balance and less unpredictability. Some people prefer not knowing what their caws are going to do. I ain't one of them. But the templates would be uploaded upon completion for those PS3 users who'd like to streamline their caw creation. But if you want specialized ability sets, you're better off making your own caw and not using the templates.

I think I might just grab me those templates as well. That's an ingenious idea, Oz.

You know me, the king of forward thinking and all. We did the same thing for 2009, just not with abilities, just stats. Season 4 starts in March, so from October 20 that's about 6 months for people to work on their caws. Plenty of time, but anything we can do to help speed the process up, we'll do willingly.
