Chris had been watching the retreating Dan Ripley and considering the effective character assassination he had just suffered when Esther's comment brought him back to earth. He turns to her with a grin,
Yeah, i think a drink is what everyone needs after an interlude with Mr Ripley there.
he calls over the waitress and orders a couple more drinks, then leans back in his chair and tries to find his stride again,
So how did you find your first taste of XWA superstars? he grins I'm guessing, from your talk about making good impressions and dealing with egos, this isn't your first foray into the wrestling business...

I've been in the business for going on three years now actually. You're right I have seen guys just like him before, plenty of times actually...and in my valet days I even had to work with a few of them. Sometimes it's just all for show, sometimes it's not...and what's funny is that they always seem to think that they're "different" from the other 20,000 cocky, arrogant "studs" out there.
She sets her empty mug to the side now and curls up into the cushy easy chair.
A dime a dozen. I just hope there aren't a whole lot like him lurking around. Worse, having to deal with female versions of him...how annoying.

Yeah, there are a fair few like that around. Plenty in the XWA, some of them turn out ok though... [he grins] the odd 'diamond in the rough'
He smiles at the waitress as she brings over the drinks,
So I'm guessing in three years, you've spent some time on the road. How are you finding North Carolina so far? [he looks around] I actually have no idea what this place is like...

I've actually only been here for about...(checks watch) going on two hours or so including the cab ride to the hotel.Esther giggles as a waitress arrives now with the refills to their respective drinks. Thank you.  Hmmm, I suppose that there is some time before this next show to do some kind of sightseeing. I would like to get a feel for how things are here, since they say that North Carolina is one of those places that's rich in wrestling history.
Perhaps you'd be interested in joining me?

Two hours? Well, you've been here two hours, settled yourself in, and met two new people. I'd call that a pretty good morning's work.
Chris laughs as he leans back in his chair,
And yes, I'd be very interested in joining you to get a feel for things... [he raises an eyebrow] Did you have anything in particular in mind?

I figured there must be some kind of tour bus around. Something that'll show as much as possible in as little time. We don't actually have that much time walk around and take snapshot of everything. I'll look up something on Google and let you know what I find.
She reached into her back pocket for her brand new, non-roaming cellphone and flipped it open.
Give me the number to your room or cellphone or something, and I'll call you later. I do need to get freshened up and changed. It's been a long way for me.

Chris looks at her phone and grins,
Ooooo, product placement!
He laughs as he reaches over, lifts her phone from her hand and keys in his number,
I'm in room 274. And I'm sure whatever you find to do will be just fine. [he spread his arms in that pose again and grins,] I'm open to any suggestions...But I'll let you 'freshen up' first!
He gives Esther a cheeky smile as he hands back her phone, then finishes of his coffee.

She smiled as she closed the phone and put in back into the pocket of her jeans. She was about done with her second latte as well. A few more sips and she was on her feet, a little bit invigorated from the caffeine. She stretches her arms over her head and arched her back to creak out the stiffness from sitting.
Mmmm...that was good.
The smile on her lips didn't go anywhere as she looked over to Chris again before she set out back to her room.
Thanks for the drink, Chris. I'll see you later then.
And with that she walked out the same way that Ripley did moments before. It really was a good day's work for her you could say, seeing the good and the bad of things right from the start. As she looked back one more time, Esther felt just a little bit more prepared for whatever was going to come her way in the XWA landscape.

Mmmmm, Ill catch you in a bit.
he grinned as he got up, nodded to the waitress and paid for the drinks. Then plunging his hands into his pocket he set off for the lobby.
