After 3 long years of service, my PS2...has died. Well, not exactly died, but it's not reading disks properly. My SVR08 and FPR won't boot up. The system reads my new games (Like recent copies of Dynasty Warriors 5; Empires, NFS: Pro Street and SF: Anniversary Collection) perfectly, but any of my older games it won't even boot up. So this effectively puts my simming capabilities at a complete and total halt, as well as being able to archive saves, as I need the game to LOAD before I can even access them. So I'm out of action until I can secure me a new PS2. This also pretty much postpones Overload indefinitely until I can get a new system.

I swear they must reverse engineer these damn systems to break down after time. This totally sucks, but look on the bright side, at least Takedown will have more matches now. [/silver lining]

Maybe it's just dirty. It can't hurt to open 'er up and clean her yourself, cuz it might save you 100 bucks. I think caws.ws has a tutorial to cleaning your PS2 in theconsole help section or whatever it's called.

After further messing around with the stupid thing, I can confirm that it has indeed met it's end. The new games boot up, but take painfully to long to load, and the older games the lense won't even read. My PS2 has officially died. So until I get a new one, all focus should again go back to Takedown, as Overload is now on hiatus. Money is kinda tight (hefty bills, high prices on damn near everything, gotta love recessions, eh?) so I really don't know when I'll have the extra cash to be able to take 129 bucks out of my budget, but we've been through this before when 3X was without a PC. Fortunately I doubt it'll take me 2 months to get a new system, but for now everything moves back to Takedown.

And if we are very needed to send saves with new updates and characters to keep on with storylines, what do we do?

I can probably lend a hand in helping I've got nothing to do really.

Maybe it was just time for the PS2 to meet its end. Now that I think about it, I better get ready to invest in one. It's on Year 3.

3 years, seems they don't build them like they used to. Mind you would love if 360's lasted that long, would be an achievement lol. Good luck in getting one soon

I say we all poll together and chip in 1 dollar. There's enough people in XWA to get him the 130 needed for a new system, lol.

Something tells me that's not a bag of chips you're talking about.
