XWA Overload was now LIVE. The Time Warner Cable Arena was rocking as the opening pyro display comes to a halt.
Tony: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to XWA OVERLOAD!!! I'm Antonio Gomez joined here at ringside by the slickest man in wrestling, Slick Willy. And tonight we embark on a new chapter of XWA.
Slick: Tonight we gonna see some drama. Some action. Some bad blood. And SOMEONE git' ass whooped. My favorite part.
Suddenly, Dio's "Holy Diver" hits the PA. The General Manager was in the building.
Tony: And it looks like we're kicking off the show with a bang. Here comes THE GM.
Gallas steps into the arena with a clipboard in hand. As he makes his way down to the ring, he waves and greets the fans with hearty handshakes. He enters the ring and is supplied a mic.
Slick: Somethin' tells me it's about ta' get interestin', Tony.
Tony: No doubt about it.
Tonight, XWA expands it's borders to something more. For over a year, XWA has become 'ze fastest, most influential wrestling organization on 'ze planet. But we're not stopping 'zere. Over 'ze next few months, you are going to see 'ze envelope pushed in ways never imagined. We are going to give you, 'ze fans...'ze best match ups between 'ze best talent in 'ze world across all 3 of our programs, Overload, 'ze new home of 'ze Diamond division Glitter, and of course 'ze flagship program of XWA Takedown. And it begins here tonight.
The fans respond with the usual cheers. Gallas nods and continues.
In my hand, I hold a a very important announcement. An announcement regarding 'ze XWA World Title. In 'zis memo is revealed 'ze new, #1 Contender...who will face Ethan Bain at our next PPV, Soul Survivor. And without further a-do, it's time reveal to all who 'zat man is. 'Ze new #1 Contender 'ze XWA World Title is no other than...
"Rated X" Lionel Xander!!!
The thunderous explosion from the fans is heard from the announcement.
Tony: Lionel Xander? What a bombshell! Now that's a match I can't wait to see, Slick.
But Gallas was far from done.
But wait ladies and gentlemen, 'Zere's more. Tonight, we're going to see a return to XWA of 'ze Tag Team Turmoil Match. 3 Teams tonight, we go head to head in a 2 on 2 on 2 ELIMINATION match. And 'ze winning team will be able not just to name 'zere time to challenge 'Ze Bruzas for 'ze Tag Team Titles, but WHEN as well. And 'Ze teams will be 'Ze Strike Force, 'Ze Burns and of course, 'ZE MOBSTAZ!
The arena was electrified as Gallas announces another huge match.
'Zank you, ladies and gentlemen. And enjoy 'ze show.
Gallas prepares to exit the ring, but is halted by the entrance theme of...

The new No.1 Contender himself. He steps into the arena wearing of all things, A Kobe Bryant Jersey. This automatically gets him boos in the home of the Charlotte Bobcats. With mic in hand, he speaks as he makes his way down to the ring.
FINALLY!!! Finally someone in the damn company got it RIGHT. Finally, the hand outs are over, and the right man for the job, now has the damn job.
Lionel enters the ring, now standing across from Gallas.
And it's about damn time. I've busted my ass here in XWA. I've beaten some of the best, I've been beaten by THE best. I'm the only man in this place that actually had the stones to call out THE DESTROYER. I'm the best kept secret in XWA. But the secret is finally out. I hate to say it, but the expiration date on Ethan Bain's title run has been officially set. Soul Survivor 2008. Because where O'Dell failed, and where Syrus failed, I WON'T. Because like the man who's jersey I'm wearing, I was born to be THE CHAMP. Not like that 5 minute wonder Chris Paul, who couldn't take his team to the dance. Not only m I in the dance, but I'm stealin' the damn show. And when I do, XWA will finally...FINALLY have a World Class wrestler as World champ. Not some guy with not technical bone in his body. Not some guy who's claim to fame is dating centerfold, and not some guy ho let's himself taken out backstage.
With a cheeky grin, X waits for the next response.

Of course he was referring to Ethan Bain, and former champions Keith Wyle and XXL. Gallas brings his mic up for a reply.
Well, seeing 'zat 'zis is more 'zen likely going to become an open forum of sorts, let's bring out 'ze man you'll be facing in 3 weeks time at Soul Survivor.
Lowering his mic, the theme of the World Champion soon begins to cue up...

Bain enters the arena met by the cheers of the Charlotte crowd. With the title on his shoulder, and eyes focused on Xander in the ring, he makes his walk down to ringside. A mic awaits him on the ring steps. He steps over the top rope and into the ring. Even at a distance, he towered over the other two men in the ring. The cheers of the fans, as well as his music dies down, and Bain speaks.
Lionel...Xander. You know, I'd be liying if I didn't say that I knew one day we'd be standing in this spot. We're both alot alike. We both entered XWA as pretty much nobodies. We both paid our dues in this ring. We both have gained the respect as workers in this ring. But that's where the similarities end. You see, there's somethin' that I got, that you don't. The KILLER instinct. Yea, I ain't winnin' no Catch-As-Catch-Can wrestlin' classics. Yea, I don't have much of that fancy offense that you and so many of the other guys backstage have. But there's something else that I have that the rest of you don't as well.
He takes the title off his shoulder and raises it high. The fans respond with a tremendous cheer.
In this ring, it's KILL or be KILLED. Survival of the fittest. And only the biggest, baddest, meanest dog is gonna stay king of the yard. And you're LOOKIN' at him. You wanna come in this ring, and try and take what's mines? BRING IT. Because it's gonna take everything you have, every ounce of skill you can muster to get in this ring and best me. No, I'm not much of a wrestler. But I'm still World Champion after facing and defeating TWO "World Class Wrestlers". And against you, I'm liking my chances to make it three in a row.

X raises his mic for a response.
I hate to break it to you, Bain. But size means squat when your in the ring with me. Go up to Canada and look up a guy named Bolt, He'll tell ya'. Go on over to Japan and look up a guy named Hito Dabura, He'll tell. Go find Damien Ortiz on the unemployment line, He'll tell ya'. You've got Giant Killers, and they you've got me. I'm made my career on taking big for nothing losers like you, and cutting them down a peg or two. Because with all the muscles you chumps have, the one in between you ears is the most under developed one of them all. You can be the biggest, baddest, meanest dog in the yard. I'll be the smartest one, and beat your ass 99.9% of the time. Killer Instinct? YOu don't even know the half of it, pal.

Yea. Easy joke, eh champ? Like I should have expected more. That punk Finesse caught me on an off day. Less we forget that it was our fair GM here that forced me into a 1 on 1 match when I was supposed to have been in War Games. But I guess it's a blessing in disguise, cuz I don't have to wait 'til November to be World Champion. So in a way, you can blaim your title reign getting cut short on XWA brass fumblin' the ball. How's that for Irony?

Just as Xander finishes, Finesse's theme begins to play in the arena.
Tony: Hey Slick, look. It's your most favorite guy on roster.
Slick: Of course he is! He reminds me of myself back in 72'. It takes a playa' ta' know a playa', playa'.
Finesse joins the others in the ring. He calls for a mic of his own, and addresses Xander.
Sothat's it, fam? You were unprepared to fight a 1 on 1 match? Because where I come from, Harlem NYC by the way, it looked a lot like you just got yo' ASS BEAT.
A pop from the fans follows. Finesse grins and continues.
Mr. G. I gotta say I like the call of makin' Xander here the #1 Contender. Because I personally can't wait to see the champ here beat this punk like a old rug.
He lowers his mic and waits for the next response.

As expected, X had a quick response to Finesse's comment.
Big words coming from a guy who's biggest win so far is...well...beating me actually. Just look. You're in the ring standing side by side with the World Champ because of lil' old me. You're welcome by the way. But don't you worry, Finesse. I never leave my debts unpaid. And you damn sure have some payback comin', pal. If you only knew. If you only...knew.

From backstage enters to the arena one of the other male members of Damage Inc, Randall Reigns.
What is this, the "I hate Lionel Xander" show?Now me and Chris here have stood in the back and watched the "champ" talk his trash, and we've watched Essence Male model Finesse talk his trash. So I guess that means it's my turn.
Reigns enters the ring, standing side by side with Xander.
Now what I'm seeing is a whoooooooooooooooooooooole lot of talkin'. And talk is like the chicks you two losers bag. CHEAP. I'll tell ya' what fellas. Damage Inc is in the building, and we've got our gear in the back. So what's say we kill the song and dance and do this in the ring. Lionel Xander, Randall Reigns, and Chris Cage. Damage Inc EN MASS in the ring, tonight...and for the 1st time on XWA TV, against you two jackasses, and whatever other partner you can cook up. How about it, Mr. Gallas. Since you're out here makin' matches and all.

Before Gallas could reply, Finesse was the one to speak up 1st in regards to Randall's challenge.
It doesn't take a genius to know that you fellas roll deep. And I knew that in dealin' wit' one of you chumps, I would have to deal with you all. So before our match a Mayday, Xander. I went and found me some back up. Someone that I know can not only hold it down in the ring. Someone who sees things the same way I do. And I know he's backstage watchin' what's goin' down. So instead of havin' to worry about find a third man in, I think I'll let him do his own honors.

A few seconds pass, and suddenly the entrance theme of the LARGEST man in XWA begins to play...
Tony: I knew tonight was going to be big. But I think it just got COLOSSAL.
Slick: LOOK!!! I think I just saw Randall's heart drop ta' his ankles!
Into the Time Warner Arena walks Steven Higby. Finesse searched for back up, and there was no man better equipped then the man who in the last two months had laid waste to both Reigns and Cage, individually and together. Higby walks to the ring, and merely stands at the foot of it. He doesn't even bother entering or saying a word, he merely folds his arms. His presence was all the "talk" he needed.

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOA!!!Hold the damn phone here. I did NOT sign up for this. I've got a match against Bain at the end of the month. There ain't no way in the word I'm gettin' in the ring with that freak. Mr. Gallas. You don't wanna jeopardize your main event do you? I could get hurt. You saw what he did to my guy Cage. He's had to get his head stitched up twice because that...that...THING.
All eyes were now on the GM.

Amidst all of this, Gallas merely stood and observed. As usual, his ruling would be one that benefited one group in particular...
You did just say yourself 'zat you are XWA's best kept secret. What is it 'zat you said at Mayday? You are 'ze "X" in XWA. Well, Monsieur Xander. I 'zink it's time for you to back your words in 'ze ring. Monsieur Reigns issued 'ze challenge, and it would appear 'zat Bain, Finesse and Higby here are more then game. And I'm ore 'zen sure 'zat 'ze fans here in Charlotte want to see it, yes?[/font]
The thunderous cheer from the fans equaled a resounding "yes".
So tonight's main event, will be Damage Inc versus ze' team of Finesse, Steven Higby and 'ze World Champion, Ethan Bain. Good luck to you all, gentlemen.
With that, the GM's music hits the PA. He gives both parties a nod and exits the ring. As he reaches the foot of the ring, he takes a look at Higby. The 1st time he'd actually been that close to him. As he turns and continues back up the ramp, he can be seen saying "wow" at the sheer size of The Colossus. He disappears backstage soon after.

Ethan couldn't have asked for a better outcome if he tried. Even he knew that any time you could have The Colossus in your corner, you were in good shape. He looks to Finesse and grins before taking leave of the ring.
