Payback Time!!! (Draco)

"Becoming The Bull" by Atreyu In Chains hit's the PA of Millennium Stadium, and to the stage comes Adam Devlin. Sporting a new look, the perennial superstar makes he way to the ring met by cheers by XWA's faithful UK fan base. Halfway down the walkway, Adam stops and takes in the roar of the crowd. He slides into the ring once at ringside and raises his fists high in the air as the crowd cheers him on. Handed a mic from ringside, Adam begins.

I wanna first say that it is friggin' awesome being here in London.

*CHEAP POP*

As the crowd cheers, He continues.

I'm not gonna beat around the bush here, folks. I'm not happy camper right now. No, it's not because I failed to capture the National Title. TRUST me when I say Adam Devlin WILL be a champion in XWA when the time is right. What I'm not happy about is on a more personal level. You see, way back in March, my second XWA match, I was put in the ring with Draco Thanatos. The "Field General" of Sabastien Gallas. And needless to say, he ate me alive. I've been beaten before...plenty of times. But I have never in my career been dominated the way that Draco did that night. And for seven months, that loss has sat in the back of my head. Sure, I've gone on to win a few fights since then. My last one on one match I picked up a near 400lbs Colossus and dropped him damn near through the ring. I don't know if that's something to be boasting about since this is his home country, but when you're on, you're on.[/color]

There were seemingly a LOT of Devlin fans in London. They didn't mind much...

But a loss the likes that Draco gave me never leaves you. It sticks with you. And right here, right now, I'm going to do something about it. I saw Sabastien's fancy ass limo backstage, so I KNOW that you're in this building, Thanatos. And I'M CALLING YOU OUT!!! So get you're masked, muscled up ass down to this ring, or I'm coming back there to DRAG you out here.

The crowd erupts in praise as "The Man With No Fear" shows exactly that, brashly calling out the fearsome Thanatos.

Buzz: Adam is fired up tonight. I don't think I've ever seen him this focused.

Roach: That's for damn sure. Thanatos is an animal, but even I wouldn't want to be in his shoes tonight. Adam is in 'da house, and he's ready for war!

Lowering his mic, Adam awaits the arrival of Thanatos.

It does at all take long for Thanatos to make his presence felt. He steps out onto the set, and a sudden chill can be felt in the entire arena. He makes a slow, methodical march to the ring, stopping at the foot of the ring to glare at Devlin. He climbs onto the apron and into the ring. He walks forward standing face to face with Devlin. Not saying a word, he just stands staring at him with his menacing gaze...

Adam stands unwavering in the presence of the monstrous Draco. He lifts his mic to speak after a brief stare down...

So what, you're just going to come out here and give me the evil eye? Fine then, let be make this crystal clear to you. Tonight, in front a global audience, I'm going to do what only two other men in this company as done. I'm gonna KICK...YOUR...ASS. But not like how Simon Fierhart or Kevin Killer beat you. It aint gonna be that close. Both of those men barely came close to defeating you. Simon was a bloody mess, And Kevin barely had the strength to make it out of that Steel Cage. Tonight, I'm not here to wrestle. I'm here ta' FIGHT. And a fight is what we're gonna have. You're ass is GRASS, and I'm smokin' it...TONIGHT.

Adam continues to glare at Draco as he awaits a reaction...

Thanatos merely continues to stare at Devlin. He doesn't even budge. He suddenly swipes the mic from out of Adam's hands, and in his menacingly deep voice, speaks...

Adam Devlin. You are a fool. You are a man who possesses great inner strength. A strength that few men can ever dream of having. But you fight for foolish reasons. For pride. For honor. Foolish ideals. In battle, there IS no pride. There IS no honor. There is only the battle itself. Men of my ilk are taught that there are two kinds of warrior. Those we seek battles to attain more power, and those who seek power so that they can attain greater battles. You are NEITHER. You're a man who fights for such foolish things as "Honor" and "Justice". An aimless warrior who fights for the beliefs of others, and not for himself. And for that, you are a fool. You will NEVER be able to defeat me because of this. The two men you mentioned, they're not like you. Kevin Killer fights merely for the sake of fighting. No agenda. No restraint. As does Simon Fierhart. They fight because they LIVE for it. And hence, I was bested by both. But you...you fall short of the warrior's path. And in that, you'll never best me.

He turns the mic around and holds it handle out...

Adam snatches the mic back. Draco's rantings about him not being a "warrior" was almost a slap in the face. It serve in firing up Adam even more.

Is that right, big man. I fall short of the warrior's path, do I? Well let me give you're ass a little news flash. This time, I'm fighting for NO ONE BUT ME. It's not about standing up for the sake of XWA. It's about making you and your boss PAY. For when he sent that little welcoming committee to my place in NYC. For when you and the rest of your merry men jumped me in that parking lot. This time, it's PAYBACK time. And I'm taking you, Sabby, and any damn other chump STUPID enough to get in my way...OUT!!! You wanna see the "warrior" in me? You'll get a nice HEAPING helping of it TONIGHT. BANK ON THAT ONE.[/color]

Adam scowls at the man as he awaits his reaction.

Draco merely takes a step back from Devlin. No further words were needed for him, only action. He continues to stare at Devlin, before turn to leave the ring. He drops down off the apron. Without turn back to look, He marches back up the walkway. Devlin wanted a fight, Draco was more the game to give him one. He knew that Adam was at the least wise enough to know that even in not speaking it berbally, his challenge had been accepted.

Adam stands watching as Draco took his leave. Indeed it was VERY personal in his eyes. He had to prove to not only Draco, but to himself that he could fight someone on that high a level of skill. Even more so then any title match, this match would be the defining moment in Adam's career. And he'd except nothing less then victory. The scene goes to the next segment.
